Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mix. She's performed on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's name is Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by singing and playing the piano in church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on the Atlanta's R&B music scene. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
